City Spies by James Ponti

Summary: Sara, a foster child and computer expert, finds herself in deep water after she is caught hacking into the juvenile justice system of New York City. But instead of being condemned to juvenile detention for the rest of her teenage years, she is liberated by an undercover British spy! Why? That's what Sara is about to find out!

Violence/Disturbing Images: Minimal. Man is shot with a tranquilizer dart; character uses karate; two dead bodies are found in a river; while exploring the underground French catacombs, characters happen upon a wall of bones

Sensuality/Nudity: None

Profanity: one use of "freaking"

Morality: Throughout the books characters lie with ease, and as spies, work deceitfully as can be expected. Otherwise, wrong is generally not condoned.

Definitely one of the best books I've read in a long time. The author masterfully combined action and intrigue to create an exciting plot interwoven with lovable, humorous characters. The messages of acceptance and friendship were both heartwarming and well-placed. And I was pleasantly surprised that for a book written only last year, there was no swearing or foul language. I very much recommend this book for any action lover!

Overall Recommendation: 12+

God bless!
